Privacy Notice
Privacy Notice
Effective date: June 9, 2026
Accessibility Checker provides automated website accessibility scanning, reporting, dashboard, and browser extension features. This Privacy Notice explains what information the service collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as your name, email address, password hash, plan, scan credit balance, and email verification status.
- Scan information, such as submitted target URLs, scan dates, scan status, accessibility scores, issue counts, affected selectors, WCAG tags, recommendations, and report details.
- Browser extension scan information, when you choose to scan the active tab using the Accessibility Checker extension.
- Usage information, such as scan counts, credit usage, dashboard activity, and basic service events needed to operate the product.
How we use information
- To create and manage your account.
- To run accessibility scans and generate reports.
- To show your dashboard, usage count, scan history, and purchased scan credits.
- To support login, signup, email verification, security, troubleshooting, and customer support.
- To improve the reliability, usability, and security of the service.
Scanned websites and reports
- When you submit a target URL, the service may store the URL, scan summary, issue details, selectors, and limited HTML snippets needed to explain accessibility findings.
- If you use the browser extension on a page where you are logged in, the scan may capture accessibility issue details from that page. Avoid scanning pages that contain sensitive personal, financial, health, or confidential business information unless you are authorized to do so.
- Automated scan results are provided for informational purposes only. Manual keyboard, screen reader, form, and workflow testing is still required before making compliance claims.
Payments and scan credits
- The service may allow users to purchase scan credits. Payment processing should be handled by a payment provider such as Stripe when payments are enabled.
- We do not intend to store full payment card numbers on our own servers. Payment providers may process payment details according to their own privacy and security terms.
- Credit balances, purchase events, and usage records may be stored so the service can apply scan limits correctly.
Cookies and authentication
- The web app uses authentication cookies or similar session technology to keep users logged in.
- The browser extension uses a scoped extension token after login so it can save scans to your account without reading your normal web session cookie.
- You can log out of the web app or switch accounts in the extension to stop using the current account.
How we share information
- We do not sell personal information.
- We may share information with service providers that help operate the product, such as hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, and security providers.
- We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the service, or to prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
Data retention
- We keep account, scan, report, and usage information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, troubleshoot issues, and meet legal or operational requirements.
- Future account settings may include self-service report deletion, scan deletion, and account deletion controls.
Security
- We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account and scan data.
- No internet service can guarantee complete security. Users should avoid submitting confidential or highly sensitive URLs or page content unless appropriate safeguards and authorization are in place.
Your choices
- You can choose not to submit a URL for scanning.
- You can log out, switch extension accounts, or stop using the browser extension.
- You may contact us to request help with account access, report removal, or data questions.
Children's privacy
- This service is not intended for children. Users should not create accounts or submit information if they are not old enough to use online business services in their location.
Changes to this notice
- We may update this Privacy Notice as the service changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date when appropriate.
